twosco's
ethical and ecological policy

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Our aim is to lessen the impact that
twosco as a business
has on the environment by ways of managing the
day to day running and the overall management of the business...

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here's what we've achieved so far...

RECYCLING & WASTE MANAGEMENT

PAPER
Waste paper is reused as note paper before it goes for recycling
Waste paper is collected and recycled via paper banks

CARDBOARD
Waste cardboard is collected and recycled via cardboard banks

GLASS
Waste glass is collected, washed and recycled via glass banks

FOIL

Waste aluminium foil is collected, washed where necessary and recycled via foil banks

STAMPS

repair then resale or environmental disposal where repair is not possible or uneconomic

BANKING & FINANCE

BANK ACCOUNT

twosco has changed over from Lloyds TSB to The Co-operative Bank
who are the only Bank / Clearing House to have an ethical policy in the U.K.

CHARITY RATE
twosco has a discounted rate of labour charges for customers who are charities

UTILITIES

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
twosco has changed its electricity supply over from npower standard (fossil fuel) tariff to
npower (in association with Greenpeace) Juice 'friendly electricity' tariff.  All of the electricity that
twosco uses to run it's offices is from a sustainable (non-fossil fuel) off-shore wind farm.

INSURANCE

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE

twosco's two million pounds worth of public liability insurance cover is provided by the
Co-operative Insurance Society Limited who are an ethical co-operative business.

STATIONERY

A4 Paper - General Office Use (e.g. Job-Sheets)
twosco uses paper that complies to any one of the following statements:-

Evolve Paper is made from 100% recovered waste paper, collected from schools
and colleges, businesses, government offices and recycling drop-off points.
The recovered paper is cleaned and recycled into pulp, and then made into
bright, white EVOLVE papers. The EVOLVE production process uses a multi-stage
cleansing process that is unique in Europe. It uses biodegradable cleaners and
chlorine-free bleaches. The result is an exceptionally bright and white paper that is
produced with the environment in mind.

OR
100% RECYCLED PAPER
Paper made entirely from ECF (Elemental Chlorine-Free) pulp obtained from 100% farmed eucalyptus trees in a sustainable forest
Paper Pulp/Fibre is sourced from sustainably managed plantation and forests

Ink-Jet Cartridges & Laser Toners
twosco uses compatible and refilled printer cartridges
purchased from Cartridge World and The Computer Shop both in Telford.
"Saves Money, Saves Time and Saves the Environment" - Cartridge World

POLICY IN THE PIPELINE:-

#  When current stocks of office paper are sufficiently depleted,  #
#  replacement paper supplies will be purchased that are made of recycled paper  #
